About Tisenö
Tisenö is an island with ecological farming and tourism, lying in the lake Tisnaren at the borders between Östergötland and Sörmland, 200 km southwest of Stockholm. Here you can find a living farm with cows, sheep, horses, chicken, a dog and cats. To get to the island you will go with the private little car ferry.
At the island there is no public car traffic and there is a wonderful atmosphere of stillness and peace. You will be close to the nature with large fields and forests, the lake and the animals. The lake is very clean and offers swimming, boat trips, fishing and crayfishing.
We are between 5 and 10 people living at the farm, divided on three households. We are all interested in living as green/ecological as possible and maintaining a simple and lowcost life.
Tisenö has always been open to visitors from all different countries and during a period of 10 years we used to arrange international workcamps for young people. Today we are more directed towards tourism.
